WHAT: Ceremony acknowledging CA-VII Tile in Locke Memorial Garden
WHEN: Saturday, October 15, 2016 @ 11:30 a.m.
WHERE: Locke Memorial Garden across from Al the Wops
SUMMARY: The Oakland Chapter (California VII) of the Blue Knights® International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club has been organizing an annual club ride to Al the Wops in Locke, California since 1996. There is a Memorial Garden across the street from Al the Wops. The Tile Project is an opportunity for the public to purchase engraved tiles to be permanently installed on the walls within the Memorial Garden. Your Executive Board has commissioned the placement of two tiles that commemorate Locke as an official destination ride for our club since 1996. The tiles are engraved with the name of our club and a graphic of one of our patches.
Because of the good relationship that we enjoy with our regional sister chapters, Sacramento (CA-1), Napa (CA-V), and Monterey (CA-XXII), we would like to welcome their members to our Tile Project dedication and in the future, invite them on our annual Locke ride.
We will gather on Saturday to recognize Locke as an important destination ride for California VII. Following the Dedication of the Tiles, we will adjourn to Al the Wops for lunch. They will be expecting us at 12 noon. We have also been invited to visit the Locke Foundation Museum, which is at the north end of the street. A representative of the Locke Foundation, Eileen Leung, may be on hand during our dedication. She will definitively be available inside the museum after the dedication.
